Jeff Ball interviewed for Photo Martini Club

The Photo Martini Club gives a toast to member, Jeff Ball. As the founder and creative director for The Other Side Arts (TOSA), Ball has taken a tremendous role in society and the arts. From photography to various different mediums such as screen printing and painting, Ball is a master at his craft. In my interview, I get the inside scoop on his inspiring work; where he has been, plans on going, and of course, we discuss his favorite martini. Watch to learn more about this incredible artist as I get to know a little bit about Jeff Ball.

Win a Dream Date with Phil Bender

a Dana Cain event www.DanaCain.com

Love often begins with a single outing. A special evening together. A “Dream Date.”

And so it is with The Love Show. Before it really begins, we wanted to find that “special someone.” I wracked my brain to come up with the Art Community’s most desirable bachelor, the sexiest, most attractive, most loving, most universally beloved man in Denver’s Art Scene.

Of course, that man is Phil Bender.

An icon of the Denver Art Scene, Phil is a founder and defacto leader of Pirate: Contemporary Art. His work is in major collections, including the Denver Art Museum. We all know that Phil Bender is one of Denver’s leading artists and most beloved characters. Here’s your chance to get to know the Man underneath the legend!  …….   Love, Dana Cain

The Dream Date: Friday, February 12, 2010

6:00 pm – Phil will pick you up in his exotic vintage sports car and whisk you away to the Navajo Art District.

6:30 pm – You and Phil will be treated to dinner at Patsy’s Italian restaurant, and you’ll visit the galleries at 38th and Navajo.

8:00 pm – You’ll transfer into a limo, and proceed to CORE New Art Space

8:30 pm – Limo delivers you to the Opening Reception for The Love Show, where you dodge paparazzi and sneer at all the jealous women.

9:00 pm – You are treated to a free photo session at the PDA Photo Booth, in Anthony Camera’ studio, to commemorate your Dream Date.

How to Enter:

– Send a short email explaining why you love Phil Bender and why you want to win the Dream Date to: dana.cain@att.net. Include your name, address and phone number.

– Include a photo of your feet for extra consideration.

– Family members, illegitimate children and ex-wives of Phil Bender are not eligible to enter.

– There is no age limit for entries. You are never too young to date Phil Bender.

– Deadline for entry is February 5. Winner will be notified by February 7.

– That gives you a week to buy a new pair of sandals.

Special Thanks to:

Jeff Ball with high school students from Skyland Charter School

The Other Side Arts (TOSA) was my passion, my home and my life for the last 8 years. TOSA has given me more than I ever dreamed when I began this adventure. As I say goodbye, I’d like to leave TOSA with a gift befitting my love for the artists, volunteers, staff and board.

In 2005 TOSA was generously given a building in a new arts district by the City of Aurora. TOSA transformed a former police sub-station into a thriving art community of artists, students, volunteers, and arts lovers.

Unfortunately, the roof hasn’t lasted as long as predicted and TOSA had several costly water incidents that threaten artists space and work. The City of Aurora has offered a challenge grant of $30,000 to help replace the roof (Thank You!), but TOSA needs to raise over $7000 to unlock the grant. You can help

For a limited time only, I am offering prints of a select few images to raise money for something that is near and dear to my heart, The Other Side Arts. Every image has some connection to TOSA. For $20 plus $3 shipping, you can own an original piece of art and help put a roof on the Aurora location of TOSA. I’d love to leave the organization that gave so much to me with a small token of my appreciation. Help me reach my goal to sell 100 prints to help TOSA.

The Other Side Arts Says Farewell to Jeff Ball

tosa logoAfter eight years with TOSA, Founder and Director of Artist Development, Jeff Ball, has made the decision to pursue other ambitions outside of the organization. Though the decision is bittersweet, Jeff is excited to begin his new endeavors while continuing to support and encourage TOSA’s mission.

During his time with TOSA, Jeff was privileged to be an advocate for artists and an ambassador for the organization. To continue his tradition of providing a voice for artists, TOSA is proud to announce two positions in its Board of Directors to be filled by one artist representative from each of the Denver and Aurora locations.

Though Jeff Ball will be missed, TOSA is grateful for his loyal years of commitment and wishes him the best as he begins his newest journey.
