This Aztec inspired garment was created by Denver designer, Armando Guerra. The make-up was done by Denver make-up artist, Becky Laschanzky www.missbeckymakeupartist.com Shooting fashion is always great because I get to collaborate with other talented artists. The final images are always a surprise and I love that!

Kaitlyn
This portrait of up and coming model Kaitlyn Amick was taken last week as part of a portfolio shoot for local designer, Armando Guerra. Make-up was done by Becky Laschanzky www.missbeckymakeupartist.com who did a great job at creating this soft clean look.
Lifeless Beauty
I’ve always liked the haunting feel of this piece. I love the contrast of color and mood that’s portrayed in this almost “lifeless” pose. The dress and styling was done by artist, Armando Guerra back when we first met in 1999.
Lonnie
This is one of my early fashion pieces. I worked with designer, Armando Guerra on creating this haunting look of our friend and model, Lonnie. I’ve always love the severeness of this piece. The stark black and white of the garment as well as the lighting and makeup. There’s a certain level of desperation in this piece.
Grasshoppa
In the late 90’s I was taking lots of photos of the rave scene here in Denver. This shot of Armando Guerra was taken just before he left for a party. This period of time is when Armando first began designing clothing. His designs were all for himself and often involved hot glue and fake fur. His design aesthetic has changed over the years but his creativity is just at lively and bright!
Auraze
This shot was taken as part of a portfolio shoot I did with Denver designer, Armando Guerra in 2003. Armando worked for a junior wear company called Auraze in NYC for many years where he designed clothes for the “raver” scene. His designs were always colorful and unique. I love the collar and piping detail of this piece.
Designer, Armando Guerra
This shot of designer Armando Guerra was taken in my studio after a hurried request by the artist. I chose the classic look of black and white photography with a splash of color in his tie. I felt this really spoke about who Armando is, a bit dark and guarded but always with flair!
