I often use my photography as a starting place rather than an end. I merge the images into drawings, paintings and serigraph prints through a variety of techniques.
This serigraph print on paper measures approximately 16″x20″ and is part of my ongoing, Macho Sissy series.
The work juxtaposes masculine and feminine imagery together representing the blurring of gender lines. The image of the muscular male form printed in white is balanced by the bright pink tea cups surrounding him, as if it is a dream.
I believe that we all have both masculine and feminine traits that should be celebrated, not suppressed by socially constructed gender roles.
I am a fine art photographer in Denver, Colorado. My work runs the gamut from high-end fashion to the deconstruction of masculinity. My curiosity and appreciation for the many different methods art is created and perceived has led to a diverse expression. I find myself drawn to a multitude of different themes, mediums and how they all relate and object to each other. My work stems from a belief that art is in everything.
