City Scapes

Reykjavik Ship

Reykjavik Ship

This photo was taken in the harbor of Reykjavik, Iceland in 2003. I took a trip with my friend Michael to explore both Iceland and Denmark. My handmade fish-eye lens is one of my favorite lenses to shoot with despite its low tech design.  I love the distortion and simplicity of the images it produces.

PS Lounge

PS Lounge

The PS Lounge sign is a landmark image in Denver. This photo was taken as part of a series I did based on Colfax Ave. I really love the lines, color and basic shapes of this piece.

Crystal Capitol

Crystal Capitol

I love the way the snow and trees in this photograph frame the dome of the Capitol Building. This shot was taken during a major winter storm in 2007 while I was living at The Other Side Arts.

Produce or Consume?

Produce or Consume?

I love shooting industrial subjects and nothing symbolizes industry more than a smoke stack. The ominous feeling of this piece represents the clouds hovering over the American manufacturing sector that is in limbo. Will we shift gears back to a production society which made this country great, or will we continue to ship these jobs […]

Denver Art Museum and Library

Denver Art Museum and Library

This is one of my favorite shots of Denver. I love how the sun reflects off the library and puts the Denver Art Museum in silhouette. I’m proud to be a citizen of Denver as it grows and evolves.

Fossil Fuels

As we learn more about how our way of life shifts the balance of life in a dangerous direction, I hope that images like this become rare. This high dynamic range shot of a coal fired power plant was taken in Denver, Co at sunset.

9th Street

9th Street

This piece is inspired by my little brother Josh.  I took this photo last night of 9th Street on Auraria Campus. This street houses many of the campus organizations such as the Metro Alumni Association. I’ve been looking into doing some High Dynamic Range photographs and this is my first go at it.

Pete’s Kitchen

Pete's Kitchen

Pete’s best kitchen knives is a Denver icon. It’s the perfect place for a late night meal. The neon can be seen from far away for those looking for diner style food with Pete’s signature Greek twist.  This was taken as part of a series I did on Colfax Ave.

Riverfront Park

Riverfront Park

The platte river valley in Denver, Co  has become a real focal point of the city’s urban renewal efforts. Riverfront park has become an oasis of urban green lands juxtaposed with stunning city scapes.  The area boasts trendy coffee shops, restaurants, museums and arts groups. It’s access is unmatched with light rail, buses and bike paths centralized between lower downtown and the platte […]

MCA Denver

MCA Denver

I love the lines of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. I believe this is one of the best pieces of new architecture in Denver. I’m proud that we have such  great Contemporary Art programing here.

Urban Submersion

Urban Submersion

The collision of cityscapes and nature creates a visual maze.  A river stretches out over the horizon of a tall building reflecting the shadow of pedestrians crossing the bridge overhead. Dreamlike layers reveal contradictions in the water’s reflection.  Perspectives battle and perplex as tall becomes deep in this drowned city.

Gears of Man

Gears of Man

As photography progresses  within the art scene and the tools to explore it expand, my personal approach to the medium has evolved accordingly.  While the pursuit of perfect composition and exposure can offer a methodical seduction in capturing a film image, digital photography entices the imagination with endless possibilities. Gears of Man evokes many of […]

Colfax from Lookout Mountain

Colfax from Lookout Mountain

From the top of Lookout Mountain in Golden, CO, the seemingly endless sprawl of the infamous Colfax Ave. illuminates the night.  This photograph is part of a series that will be exhibited in Aurora later this year. Prints are available for purchase by clicking on the title of this post. Secure payment through PayPal is provided.

Denver Night Sky

Denver Night Sky

Denver shines as brightly as the moon in this luminous photograph taken from my own backyard.  Shooting at night may present its challenges but the slowed process invites me to capture the light with care and precision. Prints are available for purchase by clicking on the title of this post. Secure payment through PayPal is provided.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

Today is my birthday so I chose an image that always reminds me of this time of year. I’ve made it a tradition to go out and shoot images of Christmas/ holidays trash. You can learn so much from what people throw away.
